MTGMeta ("we", "us") provides Magic: The Gathering metagame analytics, collection tools, and a desktop companion. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using MTGMeta you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account data — email address, username, display name, and the authentication provider you sign in with (Google, Discord, Twitch, or email).
  • Usage data — pages you view, decks and cards you interact with, and diagnostic/error information used to keep the service working.
  • Content you submit — decklists, collection scans, and support tickets (including any screenshots you attach).
  • Billing data — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number.

How we use your information

  • To provide and improve MTGMeta's features.
  • To respond to support requests and fix bugs you report.
  • To send transactional email (sign-in links, verification, support replies) and, unless you opt out, product email.
  • To process subscriptions and referral credit.

Support & live session viewing

To diagnose problems and provide support, our staff may view a live, real-time view of your current session on MTGMeta — that is, what is happening on screen as you use the site. This helps us reproduce and resolve issues quickly.

  • Live viewing shows on-screen activity in real time. It is not stored — there is no recording or playback; the view exists only while a staff member is actively watching.
  • Sensitive data is masked. Everything you type into form fields (passwords, emails, names, payment details) is hidden before it ever leaves your browser, along with other information we have flagged as sensitive. Payment forms are not captured at all.
  • Viewing is limited to authorized MTGMeta staff for support and troubleshooting purposes.

If you would prefer your sessions not be viewable, contact us using the support bubble and we will accommodate your request.

Cookies

We use cookies that are essential to sign-in, security, and remembering your preferences (including referral attribution). We do not sell your data.

Data retention

We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active. Support tickets are retained for up to 5 years. Raw scraped tournament data and aggregates are pruned on a rolling schedule. Live session views are never stored.

Third-party services

We share data only as needed with providers that run the service: Stripe (payments), SendGrid (email), our OAuth sign-in providers, and AI/OCR providers used for card recognition and analysis. Each processes data on our behalf.

Your choices

  • Opt out of product email at any time via the unsubscribe link or your settings.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.
